LAST DATE FOR FILING VAT RETURN FOR SECOND QUARTER OF 2013-14 FURTHER EXTENDED



The Value Added Tax Department has vide Circular No. 24 dated 11.11.2013 extended the last date for filing online Return for the second quarter of  2013-14 in form DVAT-16 and DVAT-17 along with required annexures , and submission of hard copy of acknowledgement in Form DVAT-56 as per the schedule  given below

NOTIFICATION NO. 16/2015-20, DATED 01-07-2022 Editorial Note :  The exemption of IGST and Compensation Cess on import of goods under Advance Authorisation, EPCG and EOU has been extended without any time restrictions. No GST on Ocean freight. Hon'ble SC.

Supreme Court has pronounced its judgment in the matter of Mohit Minerals (Ocean Freight matter).  While upholding the judgment of Gujarat High Court, the Supreme Court has held that recommendations of GST Council are only recommendatory and not binding on Union and State.  To summarise the Hon'ble Apex Court has ruled that GST is not leviable on ocean freight.
